Welcome to the Toll House Bookshop. We love books! We have over 30,000 volumes housed in eight rooms in a beautifully restored building in picturesque Holmfirth, West Yorkshire, England. Elaine Beardsell at the Toll House Bookshop has been in the book business since 1977. During this time many fine and rare books have passed through her hands. She travels widely to acquire items of interest, buying extensively at auction and from private libraries. Increasingly her business is taking on an international dimension. Familiarity does not breed contempt however and she continues to display the same enthusiasm and excitement for the business that she did when first entering it as a young graduate. Elaine is passionate about books and is confident that whatever technological advances may take place there will always be those who want to own and cherish examples of the writers, printers and bookbinders art. |
